Basketball
Basketball has become the largest sport in China in recent years! Learn to dribble, pass and shoot in the Sports Beijing Basketball Program. This sport teaches children the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship as they work to improve their coordination and confidence. The program is run by qualified coaches and is aimed at players from 7-18 years old.
The program is divided in the following sessions, based on the age of the players:
Elementary School ( 7-10 years old)/ Middle School (11-13 years old) Program
These programs provide weekday basketball training and organized game trainings on the weekend for children aged 6-16 years. During the weekday training sessions, qualified coaches use fun drills to teach and reinforce the physical skills of the students (general coordination, endurance, speed and speed reaction, strength, accuracy, balance, agility and flexibility), and also a general introduction to the basic basketball skills (dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, footwork). The Sunday practice will combine a review and reinforcement of fundamentals and 5-on-5 games.
Due to popular demand, Sports Beijing added an extra session on Wednesday from 6-7.30 for 4th and 5th grade elementary school children, starting March 21st. You can sign up for this 10 weeks session now!
Basketball Development Teams U12 and U14
For the first time, this Spring, Sports Beijing and Basketball World will set up development teams. The main goal is to continue with the development of the players in a more competitive environment and with more practice time and game situations. We are planning to set up two development teams: U12 team for players born in 2000 and 2001; U14 team for players born in 1998 and 1999.
The players who want to sign-up for the team will have to mandatory attend two sessions, a weekday practice and a weekend game-practice. The team will have the opportunity to play at least 8-10 games, including friendship games and games against other schools and training centers in Beijing area. Players should be ready to travel to other locations in Beijing for the games, which can be at different times than the regular weekend practice time.
