Baseball has been one of Sports Beijing’s main sports for many years. This season we will have a  recreational program and a competitive program for players from 7-18 years old.

Recreational League Baseball

Step up to the plate and sharpen your skills with the Sports Beijing Baseball League this Spring. Coach Paul Koch will lead parent volunteers in introducing and developing fundamental throwing, fielding, base running and batting mechanics in a fun and upbeat atmosphere. The program will also emphasize safety, baseball IQ and physical fitness. The program spans 12 weeks with the initial focus on skill development, followed by a gradual transition into game play, and culminating with competitive games both within the League and with outside opponents. While the league fee covers equipment and uniforms, players should bring their own glove to the ballpark each session.

The season will kick off with a one day baseball clinic on March 24th 1-3 PM where you can meet Coach Koch as he introduces the program, demonstrates some fundamental skills and drills, and holds a Q and A session for all participants and parents.

Parents and coaches, we look forward to your attendance at the clinic; moreover, please participate in the season by signing up as a volunteer. All levels of knowledge and experience are welcome. Let’s get out there and “Play Ball!”

Competitive Baseball

Join the Dynasty! This newly added baseball program is designed for players who are ready and committed to competing at a higher level. The program will be run by Coach Paul Koch and a select team of dedicated coaches with the intent of playing baseball at the highest possible level in Beijing and around the region. While skill development and enhancement continue, the Dynasty program will also focus on more intricate details of the game including offensive and defensive strategy, position specific fundamentals, rigorous SAQ (Speed, Agility and Quickness) and increasing pace of practice/play. While the program will actively pursue all competition opportunities in and around the region, the general schedule for Dynasty teams includes practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays along with game day on Saturdays to include a pregame practice routine, game or scrimmage, and a baseball specific post-game review of the event. Participants are expected to attend all practices, games and team functions and should expect that travel expenses and schedule may vary.

Dynasty Youth will be for athletes in the elementary grades and Dynasty Prep will be for students in middle and early high school years. Roster spots for these teams are limited and competitive; all athletes will participate in a two time tryout prior to the first week of the season. Roster and playing time will be strictly a coaching decision and will be based on putting the most competitive team on the field.

Tryouts for the Dynasty Baseball Teams will be on March 20th and March 22nd at ISB from 6:00-7:30pm.  Please attend both sessions.  The competitive teams have mandatory trainings on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7.30pm at ISB.  The first Saturday session will be from 3:30-5:30pm on March 24th.
