Spring Camp at WAB



Dates: 2, 3, 4 and 6 of April (no class on the 5th of April)

Basketball Spring Camp Groups: grade 2 – 5, grade 6 – 8, grade 9 – 12


Children from grade 2 to 12 can keep their skills sharp and fitness up, during the first week of April. The 4 day half day (Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri – 9.30 – 12.00) Basketball program have our Sports Beijing coaches use fun drills to teach and reinforce players’ physical and athletic skills, such as overall coordination, speed, accuracy, balance and agility. Skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, defence and footwork will be trained through fundamentals and will enhance their individual basketball offensive and defensive skills, through repeated and customized drills. The program will also accommodate specific needs of a player in terms of physical growth. Through the program players will develop basketball awareness and habits of training.


Football Spring Camp Groups: ages 5 – 10, ages 11 – 16


Stay sharp during the national holiday week with Sports Beijing’s World Cup Camp!  Sports Beijing Football Club (SBFC) coaches will be ready to put players through their paces to get all involved physically and mentally above the competition for the remainder of the spring season following break.  The focus of this particular Sports Beijing’s football camp will be to test players on technical fundamentals, in addition to physical skill set development.  It will focus on individual technique and also group matches to simulate the competitive match experiences players encounter during the Sunday league matches, and the various international tournaments on the horizon. Activities for the camp include 90minute intense training sessions, theoretical sessions where coaches will either discuss tactics based on world cup related matches or engage the players to participate in a world cup related trivia, and a presentation of key takeaways that camp participants can incorporate into their regular training sessions or matches for the remainder of the season.


Gymnastics Spring Camp Groups: ages 5 – 8, ages 9 – 13, ages 14- 16

Coach Sarah and her team will be coaching gymnastics from Monday – Friday (no class Thursday) at WAB from 9.30 to 12.00 for children of all ages and abilities. For kids being introduced to the sport the initial focus in these classes is on increasing body awareness and developing agility and flexibility in preparation for more complex gymnastic skills. Current gymnasts with some basic experience in the sport will join Level 1 or 2, while students aged 6 years and older, who have taken gymnastics class before and have mastered the basic skills, will have the chance to participate in the Level 3 and 4. The advance group will also practice on the vault, bars and beam to build on previously learned skills to refine them for competition-level performances.
